Trunk Call
www.planttreesaveplanet.com has already worked with schools in our local community to help them plant trees in their grounds (see the roll of honour).
Schools, like all, organisations can make a difference by:
- Fund raising in their local community to donate to www.planttreesaveplanet.com. This helps the school become carbon neutral and help those in the poorest communities overseas.
- Schools could fund raise and sponsor one treeplanting scheme. Some of the projects we support involve children in SOS children's villages. Local schools here in the UK who donate to our work could follow there progress, get to know the people that they have made a difference too!
- Involving pupils and families in ideas and ways to save energy and to be aware of what being carbon neutral means for your school.
Organising planting tree ceremonies in their own school grounds, giving the tree a name and charting it's growth!
We would be interested in hearing any other ideas for collaboration with schools in the UK which support the aims of PlantTreeSavePlanet.com

| Did You know:
- Broadleaved trees change colour in the autumn because the green chlorophyll in leaves breaks down and is reabsorbed by the tree, prior to leaf shed.
- Butterflies have often adapted to living in managed woodland. In parts of England, the Fritillary butterflies have become associated with man-made coppice systems.
- Tree fruits are designed to be dispersed, so many berries are red, as this is a preferred food colour of birds
